Job Responsibilities

We are looking for a Silicon Applications Engineer who possesses proven depth and understanding of analog/digital electronics and firmware development for handheld mobile and PC notebook related products.  The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting core platform and product developments using a diverse and wide range of technologies and techniques.  These span a range of advanced products, including touch controller, LCD drivers, human interface devices and others.  The associated technical skills required include a good working knowledge of analog, digital and software techniques and disciplines. The candidate should have broad engineering knowledge, be a skilled communicator and problem solver with a strong desire for learning. 

 

The Silicon Applications Engineer will be responsible for:

·       Functional and electrical testing and evaluation of a range of electronic devices, systems, and firmware/software.

·       Provide a technical interface between ASIC and firmware designers.

·       Support of hardware/software bring up, debug and evaluation.

·       Development of doe (design of experiments) for testing, analyzing, and benchmarking solutions and or other human interface devices.

·       Development on FPGA platforms for pre-ASIC firmware development and research programs

·       Develop reports summarizing technical findings on projects.

·       Design and build evaluation, qualification and characterization platforms and PCBs

·       Corporate test platform hardware support

·       ASIC data sheet and platform data sheet creation and technical documentation

·       Remote site training (occasional travel will be required)

·       New product introduction technical support.

·       Technical support for unique field return analyses and corrective action assessment.

·       Technical support of an integrated development environment

·       General hardware tools support.

·       Working knowledge of common mobile and PC operating systems, such as Android and Windows Mobile, and an ability to write applications programs in these operating systems.

Required Qualifications

·       At least 6 years of experience developing embedded products for consumer electronics arena, personal mobile devices, PC related products and/or other closely related products.

·       Have a solid understanding of embedded hardware systems design.

·       Experience with Embedded Processors, Microcontrollers and/or FPGA based system design and development.

·       Experience with embedded interface protocols such as I2C, SPI, USB and PS/2

·       Experience with embedded display interfaces such as LVDS, MIPI, MDDI and eDP

·       Strong understanding of analog and digital theory

·       Strong Board level (PCB) design experience including experience in layout for noise immunity, ESD protection and analog considerations

·       Experience with Schematic Capture tools.

·       Experience with PCB Layout tools.

·       Experience with system integration and board-level debug/bring-up of consumer electronics or PC based products.

·       Hands-on experience with test equipment including protocol and logic analyzers.

·       Familiarity with System Validation and evaluation of capacitive based sensor IC products.

·       Previous experience with ASIC applications support.

 

Desired Qualifications

  • ASEE required, BSEE desired
  • 5 years, min of experience in related fields
  • Experience with Capacitive Sensing Touch Controllers and/or Flat panel display drivers strongly desired
