This person will lead and grow a multi-site team of analog IC Design Engineers, CAE Engineers and Layout Designers in a hands-on, player-coach role for the development of industry-leading mixed-signal Touch-capable uController products. This leader will be responsible for managing several simultaneous silicon developments while working with other system teams such as System Architects, Firmware developers, uController/Peripheral Platform team, Program Managers and other remote silicon development teams. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced mixed-signal leader to play a key role in developing and growing Synaptics semiconductor platforms.

 

Responsibilities include:

 

·         Design and analysis of ultra-low noise analog circuit functions and data conversion circuits

·         Technical mentoring of junior engineers and design leads

·          Work with other system and IC design teams to develop and improve design methodologies, project structure and review procedures

·         Works with mixed signal VLSI CMOS transistor level design, simulation, and physical layout

·          Interface with Foundry for process requirements, design kits, etc.

·          Interviewing, hiring, orienting and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and appraising performance

·          Integrate analog, digital, and microcontroller circuits into complex embedded chips and systems.

   

Required Qualifications

 
   
 

·         MS in Electrical Engineering (strongly preferred) with a focus on CMOS transistor-level design

·         Experience in Communication theory and systems, circuits and noise analysis

·         Experience in mentoring layout techniques for low offset, and critical device matching

·         Experience in a rigorous Design Verification methodology that makes use of digital and mixed-signal behavioral models for as well as focused mixed-signal verification in a self-checking, regression-based environment

·         Experience in design of deep sub-micron (60nm and below) analog circuit design

·         Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail

·         Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously

·         Ability to successfully anticipate issues or challenges without being specifically directed

·         Ability to manage multiple-step procedures and handle frequent interruptions in work flow
