Purpose of Position:

The Medicare Marketing Representative provides greater access to health insurance, by providing education and assistance to Medicare individuals. The Medicare Marketing Representative is involved with health education through the distribution of health ed. materials and arranging for health screenings. In addition, the Medicare Marketing Representative provides Facilitated Enrollment, helps facilitate the continuance of health insurance, and offers assistance with recertification.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Ø  Identify prospective enrollees and determine eligibility for participation in MetroPlus Health Plan’s Medicare product.

 

Ø  Understand and apply all policies and procedure pertaining to:

 

  • Disclosures and provisions of the MetroPlus Health Plan Medicare product.
  • Enrollment and disenrollment.

 

Ø  Conduct home visits, and personalized appointments as needed to complete the enrollment process.

 

Ø  Market MetroPlus Medicare line of business on-site at hospitals, senior centers, assisted living facilities, community events and other sites as designated.

 

Ø  Understand the covered benefits, non-covered benefits, exclusions and exemptions.

 

Ø  Educating enrollees on all aspects of the Plan, as well as answering questions regarding Plan’s features and benefits.

 

Ø  Keep informed and adhere to current information pertaining to marketing activity guidelines set forth by various regulatory agencies—this includes providing enrollees with all corresponding materials and documentation.

 

Ø  Complete applications and field reports such as Presumptive Eligibility reports, and personnel forms (time sheets, expense reports, etc.) in a timely and accurate manner.

Ø  Work closely with the Outreach Representatives, Customer Service Representatives, Eligibility Representatives and other MetroPlus personnel to resolve member concerns regarding complaints and potential enrollments or disenrollments.

 

Ø  Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with facility and site staff community and provider organizations, as well as City and State regulatory agencies.

 

Ø   Assist members in accessing health care, transportation needs and other services or issues as they occur and pertain to members.

 

Ø  Conduct and participate in telemarketing/outreach efforts as required. 

 

Ø  Develop a presence in the local community to help generate enrollments.

 

Ø  Making presentations to large groups of seniors.         

 

Ø  Required to attend Annual Model of Care Training           

 

*Note: Some weekend and evening work may be required.

 

 

Qualifications/Requirements: 

Ø  Must have an Active New York State Life, Accident and Health Insurance Agent License.

Ø  High School graduation or evidence of having satisfactory passed a High School Equivalency Program; and,

 

Ø  Demonstrated skills in written and oral communication; and,

 

Ø  Minimum one year of experience in direct consumer contact, sales and/or social services; or,

 

Ø  A satisfactory equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

·         Bilingual is a plus.
