
The
West Palm Beach Police Department takes
pride in everything we do to help the
people of our growing community. Currently,
we have 271 sworn officers, 121 civilians
and 3 K-9 dogs. At this time, we are seeking
police officers and individuals to fill
civilian jobs within our organization.
To become a Florida-certified Law Enforcement
Officer, your training must be accepted
by the State of Florida. If you have at
least one year of continuous service as
an out-of-state officer, you may be eligible
to attend an abbreviated high-liability
academy. To qualify, your training record
must be accepted by the Florida Department
of Law Enforcement Criminal Justice Standards
& Training Council. If you are interested
in becoming Florida-certified, please

at 850-410-7229; they can provide you
with information regarding statewide training
centers that provide this training.
As of the 1994 Census, the resident population
of West Palm Beach was 76,342. As of the
year 2000, the City of West Palm Beach
was the largest municipality in one of
the country's fastest-growing areas: Palm
Beach County. Encompassing a geographic
area in excess of 56 square miles, West
Palm Beach is located on the east coast
of Florida, approximately 60 miles north
of Miami.
